IRON DAMES

Working as the solo graphic designer, I've created and implemented a full digital visual identity for the Iron Dames race team, which has included everything from social media graphics through to physical items. The identity had to represent both the Iron Dames brand and the team's mission, capturing their determination to challenge expectations while reflecting the confidence, resilience and competitive spirit that defines one of motorsport's most inspiring all-female racing teams.

From 2023 to 2024, I worked closely with Iron Dames across two full racing seasons, creating artwork and campaign assets for their programmes in GT World Challenge, the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), IMSA and the launch of their rally team. This included creating a full suite of race weekend graphics, from event schedules and driver announcements to qualifying, results and podium graphics, alongside partner activations and other digital assets required throughout each race week.

race posters

Throughout the 2023 and 2024 seasons, I was responsible for designing the official race posters for Iron Dames across multiple international championships. The 2023 collection featured fully illustrated artwork, while the 2024 series evolved to combine detailed illustration with photography, creating a fresh visual style while maintaining a recognisable identity across the season.

Every race presented a unique creative brief. Some posters focused on celebrating the host country's culture or iconic landmarks, while others centred around famous features of the circuit itself. Other briefs allowed for a more conceptual approach, using creative compositions and visual storytelling to capture the atmosphere of the event and the Iron Dames brand.

Once the primary design was complete, I produced multiple versions for a range of applications, including large-format prints, A5 autograph cards for driver signing sessions, and digital formats for social media and promotional use. Alongside the design work, I prepared all artwork for professional print production, ensuring every version was print-ready and delivered to specification for the printers. The result was a collection of race posters that not only promoted each event but also became collectible pieces for fans while maintaining a consistent visual identity throughout the season.

Big Ideas,
Real Impact.

Alongside the day-to-day race weekend content, I designed a range of one-off campaigns to support major events and milestones throughout the season. These included creative campaigns for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season results, F1 Academy, and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, each requiring a unique creative approach while remaining true to the Iron Dames brand.

Many of these projects involved collaborating with external agencies, photographers and designers, combining assets and ideas to deliver cohesive campaigns across multiple platforms. Other campaigns required working within strict brand guidelines and approval processes. One notable example was the Iron Dames x NASA collaboration, where I worked closely with NASA's marketing and PR teams through multiple review meetings to ensure the artwork accurately represented both organisations while meeting each brand's visual standards and communication requirements.

From initial concepts through to final delivery, these campaigns demanded creativity, collaboration and attention to detail, resulting in impactful artwork that celebrated key moments, strengthened partnerships and reached audiences across international motorsport.
